Detailed User Experience of ConvertFlow,Leadpages, And ClickFunnels

User Experience of ConvertFlow

ConvertFlow’s main focus is on helping marketers, teams, and agencies convert their website visitors.

Obviously, building landing pages and popups are huge parts of their offering.

But that’s not all.

They also have some kickass features for website personalization.

In this section, I’m going to show how you can create landing pages and popups with ConvertFlow.

We’ll also check out some ways in which you can add a personal touch to your marketing campaigns.

There is a lot to try out, let’s dive in.

Landing Pages

The first step is to log in to your account and go to the option to create a new CTA.

First, you’ll see templates for different CTA types.

There, you’ll find different categories including landing page design, sticky bars, embedded CTAs, and more. There is also a section on the recommended campaign types for SaaS companies.

I’m going to pick the option for creating a landing page.

creating a landing page clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow
Image via ConvertFlow

At this point, I get to choose the template of my choice and give it a name. This redirects me to the CTA builder that lets me customize my template.

They provide different templates for landing pages, quizzes, webinars, newsletters, and more.

different templates clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow
Image via ConvertFlow

If I want, I can completely change the look and feel of the template.

There are options to add button and paragraph text, edit headlines, change the form settings, and more.

Just to give you an idea, here is what the CTA builder looks like. Since it’s all drag-and-drop, I found it very easy to work with.

cta builder clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow
Image via ConvertFlow

While exploring the options, I found that ConvertFlow makes it extremely easy for me to integrate my form elements and surveys with my email service provider.

I don’t need to know how to code.

As you can see in the screenshot below, I can build Mailchimp automation options right from within ConvertFlow.

Isn’t that convenient?

Plus, all the given options are self-explanatory.

For user-friendliness, ConvertFlow gets 10/10 from me.

user-friendliness clickfunnels vs. leadpages vs. convertflow
Image via ConvertFlow

After I am done with customization, I can preview my template and test it. The good part is that the results of your tests do not meddle with your actual stats.

It’s just a preview.

preview my template clickfunnels vs. leadpages vs. convertflow

After I am done, I click on “Launch” to move forward.

At this point, I get to choose the URL path and the domain name on which my landing page will appear.

url path clickfunnels vs. leadpages vs. convertflow

Image via ConvertFlow

There is also an option to edit the page meta description, title, and more. That means I can work on basic SEO optimization from within the tool.

However, the default settings don’t make the landing page indexable. You need to enable the option. It’s a tiny slider in the dialog box that you just need to move.

At the bottom, there is another section titled, “Open Graph Tags.”

If you want to add a different title and description for my social media feed, you can enter the information here.

Since I am creating only a sample, I am going to leave this section blank.

open graph tags clickfunnels vs. leadpages vs. convertflow

Image via ConvertFlow

That’s all it takes to design and customize your landing page with ConvertFlow.

Verdict: As far as adaptability and usability are concerned, this tool gets full marks.

Popups

Creating a landing page with ConvertFlow was quick and easy.

Let’s see what it’s like to design a popup with this tool. To test the value of this, I’m going to create a “hook popup.”

Don’t know what it means?

Here’s what hook popups are:

It’s the one that you see on websites on the side of the browser window.

ConvertFlow already has a separate option to create hook popups in the CTA builder.

cta builder clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow

Image via ConvertFlow

They’ve got a whole gallery of templates with different hook CTAs. So, if I am making a hook popup for a webinar, I can just click the webinar template.

I like how convenient this makes the process.

Plus, they also have filters on the left. So, I can narrow down my search easily.

different hook ctas clickfunnels vs. leadpages vs. convertflow

Image via ConvertFlow

After this, I can add a name for my CTA. Then I’m redirected to the CTA builder.

All of the options for customization are almost the same as the ones for landing pages. The only major difference is that I can also adjust the width of my CTA for hookup popups.

The “Settings” section in the builder menu has options for changing the CTA theme, width, and position.

cta theme clickfunnels vs. leadpages vs. convertflow

Image via ConvertFlow

So far, it’s all pretty simple.

When I scroll down, I can also find options for popup triggers. In my opinion, that’s a really cool option.

It lets me control when my popup gets triggered.

popup triggers clickfunnels vs. leadpages vs. convertflow

Image via ConvertFlow

And I have tons of great options to choose from.

Check them out:

  • Exit Intent: This option makes the popup appear when a visitor is about to exit your page. Based on the mouse movement, this triggers the popup.
  • Timed Delay: With this option, the popup appears after a set number of seconds once the page loads.
  • Scroll Point: The popup appears after a visitor has scrolled to a certain part of the page.
  • Upon-Click Only: This type of popup appears only when the visitor clicks a button.
  • On-Site Message: With this option, you can create a small popup that appears in the corner of your screen. When it is clicked, the visitor gets to see a full popup.

Exit-intent and timed-delay popups are pretty standard.

I like how the tool also has an on-site message option. That way, your popups don’t occupy too much space on your landing page and they won’t come across as intrusive either.

For mobile optimization, this option is especially useful.

Google can penalize a website for displaying a large popup too soon after a page loads on mobile. With on-site messages, you can avoid this issue.

On-site messages appear only when the user clicks on the message.

In my opinion, this is a great feature!

After I’m done saving all the changes, I can preview and test the CTA in the next step.

preview and test the cta clickfunnels vs. leadpages vs. convertflow

Image via ConvertFlow

That’s all.

The next step is to click on “Launch.”

Here I can adjust where and when I want to display the popup on my website.

popup on my website clickfunnels vs. leadpages vs. convertflow

Image via ConvertFlow

At this point, I can add targeting conditions to control the CTAs that certain visitors see.

As you can see in the screenshot below, I can add conditions based on the location, URL, and other parameters.

url, and other parameters clickfunnels vs. leadpages vs. convertflow

Image via ConvertFlow

The best part is that I can also add logic statements on my own to create visitor segments.

Here’s how:

Click on “+ Add Condition” icon —> Select a type —> Add any values required —> Click on “Create Condition +”.

By default, ConvertFlow selects ANY/ALL operators for the new targeting condition. To choose a specific operator, you can select the “Add to ALL/ANY required group” option.

any all operators clickfunnels vs. leadpages vs. convertflow

Image via ConvertFlow

Let’s say, I want to target a popup to my homepage. Also, I want to display it to only those visitors who have certain Mailchimp tags.

So, I can set the following conditions:

mailchimp tags clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow

Image via ConvertFlow

I think this personalization puts me in the driver’s seat. I have the final say in who sees my CTA and where I want it to be displayed.

That’s cool, isn’t it?

I absolutely love the personalization features. I think that’s what gives it an edge over its competitors.

In addition to the features mentioned above, ConvertFlow also allows you to create forms, sticky bars, quizzes, and more.

Verdict: ConvertFlow is high on value and functionality. It’s a must-have for anyone looking to get creative with their popup and landing page designs. I definitely recommend it!

User Experience of Leadpages

As we discussed earlier, ClickFunnels is a sales funnel builder.

On the other hand, Leadpages is exclusively a landing page builder. Using this tool, you can create beautiful, high-converting landing pages for your site.

What’s more, it even hosts your landing pages on your site’s domain.

Now that you have a basic background about this landing page builder, let’s check out what you can do with it.

First of all, Leadpages comes with a drag-and-drop interactive builder. When it comes to convenience, it scores full marks.

I can just drag the elements that I want on my landing page and get started with designing.

It’s as simple as that.

Landing Pages

Now, let’s try designing a page with this landing page builder.

In the drag-and-drop editor, all the sections are clearly defined. Let’s first go to the Settings menu.

Using the “Edit Section Styles” option, I can add a landing page border and change its thickness.

Image via Leadpages

At the bottom, there is an option to add an “Arrow” border. I am going to go ahead with it and change its minimum height to “Auto.”

Image via Leadpages

In the next step, I can add a background image to make my landing page more visually appealing. Leadpages offers some free images but if nothing suits my taste, I can also upload my own images.

For this sample, I am going to go with the latter option.

free images clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow

Image via Leadpages

In addition to this, I can add a color overlay to change the look of my landing page. Next, there is an option to adjust the height for the overlay.

Till now, it’s been a smooth ride.

Even if you haven’t used a similar tool before, it’s quite easy to understand how it functions.

Image via Leadpages

Over the background image and the color overlay, I can add buttons, headlines, countdown timers, or more.

When I drag-and-drop these elements into my design area, they appear as long, rectangle boxes. I can edit the text inside, add a link, change the formatting, color, width, and font for it.

To add a link, I can see the following options:

Once I add the appropriate linking option, I’m good to go. The link is created.

Pro Tip: Name your site sections well so that you can link them easily.

Popups or Leadboxes

Have you ever seen a window with an offer show up when you visit a website?

Of course, you have!

All of us have, at least once.

That’s called a popup window. In Leadpages’ terms, that’s also a Leadbox.

Leadboxes refers to popup windows that appear when a site visitor clicks on a button, link, image, or text. Through these popup windows, users can opt-in to get a free ebook, signup, or whatever it is that you are offering.

For anyone looking to get more conversions and take their marketing game to the next level, this feature is a big winner.

Why?

Leadboxes compel the visitor to make a quick choice.

Either the visitor can exit or sign up. If you show your visitors that there is enough value for them, they are likely to opt-in.

I like the idea of such Leadboxes for two reasons.

First of all, visitors can get more details about whatever you are offering without even leaving the page. Plus, Leadboxes don’t disrupt your overall design.

While you are marketing your products, you are not being intrusive.

Sounds great, right?

Let’s try to add a Leadbox with Leadpages.

Using their drag-and-drop builder, I can add multiple Leadboxes to my page. I can even do it without adding a form.

Setting it up is easy.

I just need to select any text, button, or image, and click on the “Leadbox” option.

leadbox clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow

Image via Leadpages

Next, I can add a name for my Leadbox and directly create one.

leadbox and directly create one clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow

Image via Leadpages

For my Leadbox, in the Layout section, I deleted the body section.

layout section clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow

Image via Leadpages

Next, I deleted the default form. As you can see in the screenshot below, the option is available as a tiny icon over the form.

tiny icon clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow

Image via Leadpages

After deletion, what’s next?

At this stage, it’s a blank canvas. I can add headlines, text, buttons, images, and other elements as per my requirement.

blank canvas clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow

Image via Leadpages

As you can see, I can get as creative with the design as I want.

I think adding a testimonial or a tutorial is a great way to leverage Leadboxes. Here is what adding a video looks like:

adding a testimonial or a tutorial clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow

Image via Leadpages

For more complex designs, they also have options to duplicate your rows and set up forms for checkouts.

In addition to this, the tool also allows you to create alert bars to get the attention of your audience.

Great, isn’t it?

Verdict: The tool is extremely easy to use once you get a hang of it. The templates and design elements are classy.

User Experience of ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels is a combination of a website builder, landing page builder, and a sales funnel builder. It is crafted for those who want to design a website, collect leads, and close sales all with just one tool.

Let’s get this straight:

When it comes to building sales funnels, it’s a quite popular tool.

While it is primarily meant as a marketing tool to build effective sales funnels, I can also use it to build my website or design landing pages.

In this section, I am going to highlight some of the best features of ClickFunnels and how you can use them.

The first thing that I’d like to mention is that it has a drag-and-drop interface.

Even though I have no coding knowledge, I can easily work on the design elements. Honestly, it’s as easy as using MS Paint!

(Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration!)

funnel templates clickfunnels vs leadpages vs convertflow

Image via ClickFunnels

For an easy start, I’d recommend that you try their funnel templates.

They are designed in such a way that they can help you get more conversions. But at the same time, they provide you with an option for customization.

In a nutshell, you get the best of both worlds.

Website Hosting

Another notable feature of this marketing tool is that it offers the option for website hosting.

For people like me, who hate bouncing between different platforms, it’s a huge plus. ClickFunnels can be your go-to website creator as well as a web hosting solution.

You can manage your domain purchases from within the marketing tool. You can also see the expiration date and switch on settings for auto-renewal.

Split Testing

Split testing is the key to developing an effective sales funnel. It’s the best way to figure out what your audience is looking for.

ClickFunnels offers a quick split testing feature that can help you optimize your lead and sales generation efforts. You can also create variations of your tests quickly.

Email AutoResponder

Along with A/B testing and pre-made funnel templates, this marketing tool also offers an email AutoResponder called Actionetics. It can also work as a great lead generation tool.

The features for email marketing are available to all ClickFunnels users. Using Actionetics, you can seamlessly run your email marketing campaigns as it allows you to store contacts, send broadcasts, and do a lot more.

Since this feature for email marketing is a part of ClickFunnels, it is already integrated into the marketing tool.

This makes it easier to create workflows and get more email leads.

Built-In Shopping Cart Feature

With most marketing tools, you need to add a plugin to add a shopping cart to your site. But ClickFunnels is different. You don’t need to use any other plugins.

This tool allows you to add your price details, descriptions, and products within the app. Once it’s live, your visitors can easily add the products to their shopping carts to make purchases.

If you want to build an ecommerce website, this feature can be especially useful.

Multiple Themes and Templates

Whether your style is classy or quirky, ClickFunnels has something for everyone. They have over 100 templates and themes so that you don’t have to create sales funnels from scratch.

Many of these sales funnel and landing page templates are quite eye-catching. However, I have a suggestion for you:

Before you pick one, just make sure you read all the reviews first.

Some of them are added by third-parties, so it’s a good idea to check what other users think of the templates.

As you can see in the screenshot below, all the funnels are displayed on the right side of the screen. On the left, you can set filters for template types and categories to easily find what you are looking for.

A quick browse through the page showed me that they have all kinds of templates available. Funky, somber, bold…

You name it, and they’ve got it!

Easy Conversion Tracking

A high conversion rate means you’ve succeeded in building an effective sales funnel. To measure my performance with ClickFunnels, I just need to log in to my account.

On my dashboard, I can check out all the key metrics for my sales funnel. It’s all clearly defined, so I can identify which what’s working for me.

What’s The Final Verdict?

From key features to user experience and pricing plans, we’ve compared all aspects of these three tools.

That brings us to the final question:

ClickFunnels vs. Leadpages vs. ConvertFlow — Which one is the best?

It’s not a black and white answer.

If your focus is on website personalization and lead generation, while fully integrating with whichever email marketing tool you'd like, your best bet is ConvertFlow.

It allows you to send personalized site messages and even leverage on-site retargeting. Plus, it is integration agnostic.

That’s not all.

With ConvertFlow, you can also create quizzes, forms, and surveys to get more leads. It also gives you more control over designing your CTAs and popups. It’s an all-in-one platform for converting website visitors.

Another thing to note is that ConvertFlow doesn't compete with email marketing tools. That’s not the case with ClickFunnels (via Actionetics) and Leadpages (via Drip).

Because of this, ConvertFlow is able to provide deeper 2-way integrations with all the top email service providers. This is better if you want to build your own stack of best-in-class platforms, without becoming locked into one ecosystem.

Plus, this landing page builder is really affordable. Their free plan allows you to track up to 500 monthly visitors. And their Pro plan, which is priced at $29 per month, offers premium features for building effective landing pages.

On the other hand, ClickFunnels’ focus is on marketing and sales funnels.

If you are looking for a tool that aids you in funnel creation and email marketing, ClickFunnels might be the right pick for you. It comes with funnel templates to get you started right off the bat.

Leadpages is specifically tailored to help you boost your conversions and help you design landing pages. For those looking for a tool that offers website hosting options, Leadpages may be the best choice.

All in all, the best tool for you will depend totally on your requirements.

I hope this article helps you choose the right landing page builder for your business.
